Fuel Starvation Issues
If you look at the picture I posted, that is exactly what we did on the 370Z I did this to. There is a metal cross over tube already there to pull fuel from that side of the tank. I assume the 350Z is the same but have never done this on a 350Z. I simply connected a short 1' piece of submersible fuel line (not the same as regular fuel line) from the pump outlet to the metal cross over line. I also did not use an OEM pump as the transfer pump, used a GM style TBI (plenty of volume and low pressure - ~15psi) fuel pump that was about~$55-60 from the parts store.

2000atlanticgt: How did you get the wiring inside the tank?
Does anyone know who makes a low pressure fuel pump that could handle ethanol?
To pass the electrical wires through the plastic hat, I do not remember the sizes but selected a couple threaded bolts then used a drill bit slightly smaller than the bolts. We drilled holes (2 - positive terminal and negative terminal) in the top of the plastic hat, then threaded the bolts into the hat (very tight fit with the threads actually cutting threads into the plastic as we installed them. We used slightly over sized flat washers in between the bolt head and the plastic hat, using rings terminals to make the electrical connection as they were sandwiched between the bolt head and flat washer. The electrical connection passes through the bolt, same set-up in the tank with the positive and negative lines from the fuel pump connected to ring terminals and to the bottom side of those bolts.
That's simple but brilliant. Looked at the drivers side tank today. It's easy to see the crosstube (8 mm). I will definitely keep the fuel inside the tank and connect the pump to that tube. Thank you both for helping me out with the problem. Hopefully this will fix my issues. I will report back when I hit the track.
Thank you both!
Thank you both!
It worked perfect. I used the OEM pump as transfer pump. Seems like the aftermarket pump is strong enough to suck through the secondary pump even if it's not on. So I can keep the secondary pump off and turn it on only when I hit the track.
