Talking Video: Lap of CA Speedway SCCA '04

The Cal Club SCCA season opener finally arrived last weekend so I got my fix! I was a bit rusty after a year out of the car but here's a lap:

Lap of Fontana

It's in my '83 RX-7 in the PRO7 class. There was a beautiful yellow 350Z racing in T1 I think -- I'm looking for some pix.

Woo hoo...one of my favorite tracks! Last time I raced there, I went 'through' the little chicane instead of doing the proper juke to the right, then the left...I was side by side with three other cars trying to fit through where only one car should. I hit the curbing there and launched the front end of the car about 1.5ft up into the air. All I could think of for the rest of the race was..."Hmmm...I sure hope the front suspension doesnt fall apart while on the banking at 160mph".

Good times, good times....

I hear ya -- our little 7's are only good for 130 or so on the superspeedway portion, but that concrete wall is whizzing by on your right and the car feels magnetically drawn to it...

I'm no NASCAR fan, but I've got to admit those guys have huge brass ones to squeeze along that wall 3 abreast doing 190.

TC's Kline T2 car. I don't think TC drove it. I believe it was rented out. It was Hal Brown's car last year.

Mark - I believe T.C. was driving. He had a Z4 rented out.

reen - That was the Roadster from my avatar in the paddock.

How did he do? I can't find results. TC still has his PPW 350Z too. BJ may even do some T2 this year! The SSR's are 17's on the yellow Z. He ran 18" er's on the PPW.

Looks like TC drove a Z4. 350Z was rented out.

Interesting. My fast lap in the ol' RX-7 was almost exactly 10 seconds slower than his. Not too bad considering I barely surpass 100 RWHP. There's something to be said for a 1000 lb weight advantage!!!
