Default Fiberglass Doors

Now that my car is getting a full cage I am looking into replacing stock doors w/ fiberglass
doors to save weight. I haven't seen any available from any vendor and the carbon fiber doors
I've seen available are very expensive. A racer here in FL had some made for his Miata locally,
I would like to do the same.

Would be able to get a good deal if there is more interest than just myself, group buy style.

Not asking for commitment but would like to know if anyone is interested, please let me know.

Better yet if you know where I can get some already built specifically for Z, pls let me know.

Here is a pic of the Miata door, I believe it weighs 5lbs:

Definetly for the max weigh reduction...but gutting the doors gets the same results along with swapped out the glass...

My doors are completely gutted but I have not weighed them but based on some posts it may be worth it:

I would say around 45lbs. I was surprised they were that heavy because there is nothing in them at all, but the latch and door lock. I would think the carbon doors would be a huge weight savings. I may consider doing this in the future.

I realize FB is not as lite as CF but if the difference is negligible, it may be worth it depending on price.

I haven't seen any fiberglass doors for the Z33's, but I do love those CF ones...wish they weren't so expensive

Agree...fiberglass would be a far better gain ! So, window nets and no window?

Then go for it !

In all reality, unless you are going dry-carbon fiber(the $3k a set) than 'carbon fiber' doors are fiberglass doors...
