No prob!

I had originally planned to use the existing lines of the V3 front bumper and focus on the undertray/diffuser with a minimal extra lip (primarily on the side/endplate area), but with the front bar and subframe being so low I am not sure I will be able to effectively contour the underpan to make that work. Having very little front lip would have allowed for relatively thin aluminum diffuser (keeping weight down). First run will almost certainly just be a flat splitter/diffuser made of birch w/aluminum or carbon endplate/wheel arch extension.

I've decided that I am not going to mess with power at all for 2015 and run the car on real slicks instead. This will be a disadvantage at VIR, but oh well.

Haven't had it on a dynojet, but I figure it is in the 305whp +/- 5whp. Have to take -.4 for aero and -.7 for slicks (plan to use 280-285 width), which puts min weight with fuel/driver at 3085, which is probably optimistic for this year.

Pulled a bit more stuff out from the inside, but not much progress of late. Been out of town and very under the weather the past 10 days.

If I get a chance to cut out the crap the behind the rear speakers and remove all the sound stuff...I'll try and get the car on the scales this weekend. Should be 2700's with no seats/battery/roll bar, etc etc...

That sounds about right. Mine was 2790 with seats and all the metal still behind the seats before I got my cage.

Are you cutting out all the metal behind the seats? I only did the top portion which is more of the glove box/speaker box. I am thinking about doing the rest. Not sure yet.

Pretty sure I am going to cut it all out. The weight coming out of the car is really piling up...I can't believe how much **** is crammed everywhere...

Little update...still working on getting the car's weight down. Pic below is the weight with no seat, roll bar, harness, or aero. However, it does still have most of the dash (airbag/blower fan/etc), all sound material, all OEM touring wiring and all of the metal behind the seats)...

With that, I've now amended my target weight I hope to achieve before tossing the interior/bar back in to 2735, which should be pretty easy.

I think I am only going to cut the top section out. Not going full cage this year, so prefer to keep that rigidity in there. May hole saw a bit of the lower section out, but nothing extensive. Figuring I can get 10lbs out of that section. Anyone know off hand how much all the sound crap weighs?

I cut the whole section out and ran for a year without any cage at all and didn't notice any loss of rigidity.

I'd rather be down the weight. I hate weight.

Hmmm....I might just get aggressive with the hole saw and leave some in there.

Assuming it gets above 20f this weekend, I'll try and get over and take some progress pics. Hopefully by the end of next weekend the car will be done in terms of getting the weight out (sound stuff, dash, etc). I'll be in Daytona for the 24 the following weekend, then it will be time to start bolting everything back in. I'm told the kognition wing will be here by then. I've also got a 4x8 6mm sheet of dibond to use for the front aero. First shake down of everything will be Summit Point in middle March (assuming it doesn't snow). I'll probably order the Kirk Roll Bar next week as well. No full cage for 2015.
