Going to shake the car down at the Wilmington ProSolo at the end of the month. Should be running by then. It is a known environment where I can at least throw the car around and make sure everything is put back on correctly (at a relatively low speed). Decided to convert the car to true coil rear as well.
Eh....I have 'em. The camber arms were put in a hurry a few months back. I've been pretty lazy on this build the past 6 months. Probably going to pull the roll bar out and run XP at the Pro Solo in Wilmington at the end of the month. I need to get the old ethanol out, make sure the pump/injectors are healthy, get it aligned and a few other odds and ends done first, though. I think I'll spare the new bumper/splitter cone damage and run the old BSP front bumper, though.
Oh, I'll get crushed. I'm 750lbs overweight for XP and just going to run A7's....not real slicks. Not too mention I make probably 200whp less than most of the XP cars.
Didn't run the car at the Wilmington Pro. Plan to get the suspension done this week and get back to all the little projects that have mounted up. Probably have a shake down run on the dyno in 6 weeks or so and try and run 3-4 events before the snow starts to fall.
What....cutting them? If so, yes. I cut about an inch off them and pushed them out. Cleared just fine.
Update:
Rear Suspension is done, except I think I am going to have to get some sort of spring spacer. Even with an 8" spring, helper and the collar almost all the way up, the car is a bit too low.
No more spring buckets...
It's been a pretty crummy week personally, so I'm finding distraction in the car again. Hope to get a bit a done this week, then away autocrossing a vette in Wilmington, OH for the weekend. Really want to have this car buttoned up and ready to go before Solo Nationals so I can hit the ground running with it once that is over.
are your axles level with the car on the ground? I can't tell in the pic, but they should be. I could probably make you aluminum spacers at work, get with me on dimensions if you need them.
Ride height is still about .5" too low in that pic. Axles are almost level as is. I ran YEARS with the car lower than it is now on the big gum ball tires and never broke an axle/diff (knocks on wood).
Thought about it and I actually have a pair of ones from Penske, but I don't like the idea of the weight being largely on the center of the mount with that solution. Honestly, I measured the ride height and it is about where it was before and the wheel rate is higher now, so I'll toss it on the scales in a few weeks and see where it is. If it has to go up more than a 1/4" on the drivers side I will probably have to do that.
