RE-71R experiment?
and im not surprised the RE71R is faster than the RS3. The better benchmark is against the Dunlop ZII. I may be using the ZII's now for test and tuning events and buying a set of RE71Rs solely for national events.
FYI - Z1 is not the only complaining about the wear......

due to the fact that I have new ZIIs already and I planned on two sets of tires this season anyway. not sure we need the "fastest" tire for some of the local events. Would want the fastest for nationals and those tires to be in their prime for the Solo Finale. waiting on some testing results comparing the ZII versus the RE71s. its probably about a half second difference at Nationals.

And, from what we are seeing thus far, the legit street tires live much longer lives on the same cars.
Let me put it this way...
Heikotter's in Peter's old car. We're all boned this year no matter how you look at it.
Buy decent tires this year, build the car, and let the chips fall where they may for the 2016 season.

Is there any reason whatsoever to even mention a treadwear rating in the rule book?
Does anyone here remember why the SCCA moved to street tires in the first place?
