Default Tires Options/confirmation

I got a 2003 350Z Performance Trim. With our local AutoX (small northern town) we have adopted a new classing system (Ottawa's raceing system) , and my current wheel tire set up costs me too many points without helping me out for a faster time. My thoughts were to use my oem wheels (18x8,im pretty sure) get new sticker tires n go with a square set-up. To prevent me from bumping up a class i have to keep my tires less than +40mm wider than stock and have the treadwear greater than 200 (CANT be :Azenis, RE-11/RE01R, RS3, StarSpec, XS, Pilot Super Sport, Rivals, will get the points for any of these tires). My questions are:

-would a 255/45-18 tire size work for a square set up? Keep the traction control somewhat happy for driving to the events?
-Anyone have any experience with:
-BridgeStone Potenza S-04 Pole Position (280tread)
-Pirelli PZero (220 tread)
-Dunlop SPSport MaxxTT (240 tread)

Thread moved to appropriate section. Hopefully, you'll get some answers to the tire experience question.

To make sure of your wheel size, just take them off and look at the stamping inside the wheel on one of the spokes or the edge of the inner barrel.

255/40-18 would be my target tire on stock wheels.

Really going to wider wheels with even wider tires will be best

A 255 square setup would work, although I found personally that I was happier with a 255/275 staggered setup and was quicker around an autocross course. You obviously would need an other than stock rim but you did not mention if that would get you points added.

For treadwear 220 or higher the PZero or the michelin pilot sport PS2's would probably be my go to tire. I ran them previously and had good turn in with very predictable release. The Pzeros were more stable when hot but the michelins had better turn in and feel. The michelins also cover almost every tire size you could want. The eagle F1 asymmetricals were a decent tire as well just make sure you find the correct one since there are about 5 different variants.

The michelin pilot super sports are 300 Treadwear. I think you have them confused with the sport cups. The super sports grip better than the sport ps2 and wear better so I'd go with those.

It sounds like its not specifically a treadwear limit for points. From what he typed, his region appears to be adding points for known superior tires by tire name.

So i did some extra poking around, turns out the oem wheels are 18x8 (front and rear). I like the sounds of the Pirelli PZero's (255/40-18), plus they are on sale at Tire Rack...the PZeros in that size call for a 8.5-10' wheel width.
-would it be worth it/safe to stretch the tire the 0.5' or go with a tire that would fit (245)?
-Iam have to use a 245/45-18 correct? (if iam starting to use the tire calculator right to keep the 3% differnce)

You can do 255/40 without issue front and rear. If you want you can do 245/40 front and rear on the 8 inch wheels. You can also do 245/40 front and 255/40 rear you want the electronics to perfectly work

Update: I picked up a set of Super Advan SA3R wheels for 800$... seller said they were 18x8.5 all around...when they were delivered turns out they are F-18x8.5+38 R-18x9.5+35...slightly bummed... but i can deff make them work...
-Would it be better to go with a 265/40 square set-up,over a 255/40?
-Take advantage of my wider staggered set-up? do a 255 or 265 front and a 275 or 285 rear?
