I'm no expert and with respect to how much you can haul (run what you brung vs. truck & trailer) and how long you'll be at the track

computer/charger (tuning changes, multi-media downloads)
generator/power strip/ext cord
volt meter / electrical tape
battery charger/booster packs
additional fuel/methanol/nitrous
absorbant
extra coolant
starter fluid (aiding hot starts)
canopy/chairs/table
fire extinguisher
wheel locks (if applicable)
Safety Glasses

I tend to not use zip ties but rather bailing-wire/ss tie-wire

Spare pads and rotors for sure. Along with an emergency caliper accessory kit if you happen to loose hardware in the pits.

I've been at this for about three decades, so my list of "essentials" is different. Among the items not already mentioned:

-cordless impact wrench
-extra lug nuts and center bore rings
-spare set of rain tires, mounted and pressure ready
-at least one extra tire, mounted and pressure ready
-air tank
-rolling toolbox (buy an old craigslist one and bolt the top and bottom boxes together)
-enclosed trailer (racers either have one, or wish they had one)

Do you have a link to a "caliper accessory kit" couldn't find it online? Or would I just buy the parts separate?

I do not have room for a generator (or powerstrip) since I drive to the track.

Changing tune on the fly? Using what software? I do not know how to tune my own car.

I drive to the track and have a 12-point cage with a passenger, so space is limited. I have edited the OP to mention that. So basically I am looking for the absolute essentials (specific to a 350z) that will fit in that space.

obviously you're limited to how much you can haul...

what software? I use a haltech piggyback ECU along with their software...if 'on the fly' you mean between track runs than yes, on the fly...

'track' and 'essential' must be taken relative to each persons individual situation.

OK- now that you've clarified your needs, it really comes down to what can you carry inside the car? Not much, but I'd still suggest a rechargeable impact wrench and air tank for the essentials list. Beyond your original list, a small set of metric hand tools and one spare tire are about all you're going to get into the Z.

My only other suggestion is to package as much as possible into small plastic bins for easy transport. Makes it easy to load and unload and keeps things somewhat organized and weatherproof.

This is what I do. I got some tubs/bins from Lowes that fit under the rear strut tower that have snap on lids with carrying handles. My track rat buddies always have a jack plus stands along with motive bleeder so I just bring brake fluid and extra pads with hardware. Most people I've meet at track days are happy to loan a tool or socket... and sometimes even a hand with quick fixes. A 12V inflator (I got a little Viair unit that doesn't overheat) and a good pressure gauge. Glass cleaner, rags/towels, gloves, torque wrench with correct socket for lugs. Zip ties, tape wheel caulks are must haves as well.

Sure it would be nice to have extra tires and other goodies but I've found about the only thing I absolutely needed were brake related parts/tools/fluid. One thing to remember is most jacks don't fit under the Z so ramps or another way to get the front up high enough can be a challenge. At home I use wheel dollies but they are bit too bulky to carry to the track.

Notepad and pen. Take 10 minutes after each session and record your thoughts, questions, and things you learned.
