Default Square setup on stock 17" 350Z wheels

Anyone try a square setup using 235/40r17 tires all the way around for autocross in D Stock on their Z?

Most I have seen run 17" RPF1 or FN01 square setup. The stock 17's are boat anchors at 30lbs with weights and tpms. We have several 17" wheel threads, I would start searching there.

Mr. Sparco

Most stock wheels are. The C6 Z06 stock Speedlines were pretty good and reasonable when it comes to weight.

My wife and I are doing this on the cheap for now. I have a list of the things we are planning to do now, and things we are planning to do later.

Looks like the OO was really good on his maintenance (we have the records) but if we plan on Autocrossing the car, the following will be done in order:

1. Full service - oil change, transmission fluid change and rear differential fluid change
2. Rear differential bushing replaced - it's leaking and I already have everything to perform the service
3. Brakes - Whoa is more important than go - calipers, pads, rotors, braided brake lines and maybe even the hubs
4. Tires - the ones on Stitch are in good shape, however autocrossing on Michelin all season tires is fairly ludicrous, thinking Federal SS595's to start with as they are DS legal
5. Front sway bar - thinking Whiteline

I found 235/40r17's on sale so thinking square setup to start off.

235/40/17 will be a much shorter tire than stock, FYI.

I ordered 245/45/17 tires. Since they are about 2% difference in height, I am not too worried.

that's what I went with. Federal SS595. Got them for 290 for four delivered. Getting the last 2 mounted Saturday. FedEx "lost " 2 of them and "found " them 48 hours later. Ruined my test and Tune weekend this Saturday.

I did get a Hotchkis front swaybar and will mount it Saturday as well.
