Well, if we really wanna get technical, we should do that same experiment mid turn, while the tire is SIDE loaded. I could care less about traction in a straight line

I don't see a realistic way to presicely measure width of patch in mid turn... I know it's not exactly true, but I guess we can approximate that proportions of static measures will *more or less* remain in mid turn. I.e. if 275mm tire has a contact patch width of 265mm and 245mm tire has 240mm than that first one better in mid turn too.
