Default Hot days

Ok, maybe this is a dumb question but what do you guys do at the track in the summer when it is hot out. Obviously the a/c is a no no, so do the tracks allow you to run with windows down without netting. Some track rules I've seen require helmets, long sleeve shirt and pants, and the windows can't be rolled down. Doesn't it get really hot after a few minutes out there. I'm going to the track for my first time soon so I was just wondering.

What track and event?

You might want to check again. At all the track events I've run at (five tracks, 46 days over almost five years) you have to run with the windows down, not up.

If for some reason you have to run windows up, then set the fan to fresh air, but with the AC off.

Keep your windows down and drink a ton of water, that's all you can do. Some clubs require long sleeve shirts, some don't.. bring both. Bring a tent and a chair as well, the sun will really kill you. One thing that I found that really helps is spend the day before doing as much car prep as possible so once you get to the track, you shouldn't have to do anything all day but torque wheels and check oil and pressures. Taking wheels on and off to fix loose coilover collars, bleed brakes, change pads will really burn you out. Run a few track events in the middle of July in AZ and you'll figure out how to keep cool.

Yeah, everyone I run with requires you to run with windows
down...so you can see/acknowledge corner workers.

Sucks more during the winter...

Don't remind me... I've run in arctic temperatures on many occasions... but then again, that's to be expected when you run at VIR during the winter or at Mid-Ohio in early spring. Adrenalin plus the heater at 90 at full blast warms you up though...
