I'll be at Summit Point for this Friday at the Track, and John say's he'll be there, too, for his first! Anyone else?

 

I'll be there with one of my customers for his first time. Weather looks good!

 

Put in my track pads last night and did a tech inspection on the car last night, so I'm ready to go. Since I haven't registered, hopefully they'll let me in...

James, what time are you planning on arriving? Is there a tech inspection form that I need to fill out prior to the event?

No inspection form. Their mechanics do a quick look over the car, make sure you've emptied it out, the engine isn't about to fall out, and the wheels aren't going to fall off. Then they write your number on the window with white shoe polish.

James, are you going to bring your magnetic numbers again? And who do you recommend I speak to first?

Also, I'm going to be there when the gates open, so I'll cordon off an area for all three of us up near where the "car porch" thingee is.

 

Magnetic numbers aren't needed, just the shoe polish. It's how they indicate you've passed tech. Yes, it's tacky, but it's what they use. (Make sure to wash it off by the end of the day. After 24 hours, it gets much harder to take off.)

Katie will probably be handling registration, and the head instructors are Bruce or Tim. Ask her to ask them for the okay to put you in Group 2 on my recommendation. I'll try to get there as early as I can, 8 or so. (Gawd, I hate getting up early in the morning!)

Jim, will your friend be bringing his own car, or using yours? (We may need four spots, John.)

 

I'll actually get to sleep in about 45 minutes on that day...
