Mid-Ohio HPDE 8/20-22
Has anyone signed up for this NASA event?
I want to, but it looks like only HPDE4 drivers can drive all 3 days.
I sent message to Lawrence, but I'm waiting for his answer.

John, I called him and LMOM......
I'm guessing the 3 day is only for advanced drivers.
I THINK only Friday is for regular HPDE groups.
Looks like I might HAVE to do VIR with CarGuys 8/13-15.

I am taking a pass on this one, much to my chagrin. I really want to do it, but it is not in the budget right now. So, I am going to supplement my racing addiction. I am going to Mid-Ohio on August 6-8th for the Grand Am Cup races. Hope some of you come!

James, that looks like a lot of fun. BUT, I slotted my vacation time in a while ago, which starts 8/8.
I also will miss a 2 day PCA event at Gingerman that weekend.
But I'm planning on Mid-Ohio for Friday at least. Might get back in time to catch the American LeMans race at Road America.
A local friend wants to do Watkins Glen.......we should do that next year. We like PCA events, so we'll be looking at their schedule.

Two things to consider. I ran without the chicane, and I'm pretty sure SCCA ran with it last year (but I don't remember exactly). I'm not sure if GAC runs the pro course (no chicane) or the club course (with chicane).
SCCA regional and national races at Mid-Ohio run the club course, except for the Run-offs, then they run the pro course.
Also, point of reference, BJ ran a national in my T2 car this year in 1:43 flat (club course). That's with oem springs, sways, and Koni sport yellows. Not bad

Now that I think about it, the Runoffs use the pro course since it's different than what the regional races use. They run a different configuration so the Ohio region doesn't have too much of an advantage.
Edit: Looks like Mr. Henderson beat me to it...

John, impressive time! BUT, wow, 12 seconds off the GAC times!
I know their tires are a LOT stickier, but they MUST be making a LOT of HP too!
I'll be happy to get under 2 minutes!
OK, 1:57's........I got stickers!!!
Just got an e-mail from Lawrence. HPDE4 & time trials are full.

I suspect I can get closer to 1:46 on the pro course now that I have R-compounds, but the biggest difference between Jason, BJ, and myself are the bean-bags between the legs. I still have to drive my car home, and I definitely don't have the skills those guys do.
