here's how to wire them to the map lights.

first of all, you need to drill the holes, epoxy the LEDs, wire them with the corresponding resistor, then run the wires from the door handle inside the door, out through the gromet for the door, under the side skirt, under the weather stripping along the bottom of the door, up the side molding, all the way up to the headliner through the A-pillar, then over to the map lights. one tricky thing i ran into was getting the wire under the headliner over to the map light housing. i had to get a coat hangar and push it through were the light housing popped out to the windshield. then taped the wire to the hangar, and pulled it back through. here are the pics for access to the light housing, and soldering the wires.

here is where you need to pop out the lense.

after you have both lenses popped off, there are 4 catches around the housing where it is popped into place. you can either put ur screwdriver here, or at the 4 places.

here is a close up of 2 of the catches that hold the housing in place. you need to depress all 4 of these with the screw driver to get the housing to fall out. be careful not to pull on the housing because it has wires attached

the 2 sets of wires you see are mine. i have wired so that the left map light, if pressed turns on the left handle LEDs and same thing for the right side.

here is a close up of the wiring for the left side. since LED's are polar, the electricity has to flow one direction. so when doing this, make sure that positive lead wire that is connected to the resistor, then the positive lead on the LED, is soldered on to the bulb lead that is closer to the front of the car. this is very important. if you sodler the leads on to the wrong bulb connections, the LED's will not work and, if enough voltage flows through, could damage the LEDs.

First off i really like it!

Im not sure about you Z folks but i know in the G there is a light in the door "step light" that comes on with the dome light at a unlock.. If you have the same light it would save a ton of work running those wires to the dome.

Default Nice Mod.

But I wonder if any1else have thought about installing the led behind the the handle instead of in front. To me it would be both functional & class.
