First you will need some Dupli-Color Fabric & Vinyl paint.. Auto Zone $5 and some Paint Prep cleaner.. $5.. This is used to take all Oil and stuff off the area to be painted.. http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/8...ture005aa7.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1...ture010au7.jpg You can either mask off the labels on the visors or just paint over them. The long sun blocker piece will pull out of the visor with little effort. http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/2...ture004fj8.jpg The Mirrors are held into place by two small pressure clips that can be pushed up by a small flat head screw driver.. http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4...ture001vx6.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3814/picture002uf3.jpg http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/5...ture003gx3.jpg After everything is disassembled, Clean it with the cleaner, (except for material) (Plastic only) and apply one or two light coats of paint.. Apply several coats till you are happy with the color and then paint all the plastic accessories.. http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/5...ture003gx3.jpg The accessories will be easy to paint. http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8...ture008ut3.jpg Once everything is painted and dried, Reassemble and install back into the car.. Final product.. http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/5...ture009fm5.jpg Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.. Do you need to apply a clear coat to the finished fabric pieces ??? |

I just painted the sun visors tonight. I thought I did a pretty good job at masking off the airbag warning, but obviously not. So tomorrow I will be justthrowing a coat or two over it. The fabric itself though and all the other pieces turned out awesome. Anyone got a DIY on how to get that headliner out?
Any color transfer issues when touching them?
I didnt have any. The paint also drys very very quickly. Just make sure that if you are going to keep he airbag warnings you mask wellor else it will get under the tape. I have to paint over mine here soon, then I'm going to do the headliner if i can figure out how to get it out. :) Thanks for the DIY

Getting the headliner out wasnt too difficult, but I would definatly recommend you have someone there to help you out a little bit. the only thing really holding up the liner are the 4 pressure gromets in the rear, the 2 sin visor clips that, and 2 pressure clips that hold the domelight assembly to the roof. To get the visor clips off just turn em to the right half a turn and they pull out. Other than that you just have to kinda run you finger along the visor to get it to release from the top. There is only about 1/8th-1/4th inch of headliner running along the sides. I am about to start putting the liner in the car right now...

Well, the project would have been done tonight, but umm some stuff stuff stopped me. I got the headliner back in the car and everything. But somehow I lost the screws that hold the visor up LOLOL. So if somebody knws the size of the screw so I can pick some up tomorrow that would be just dandy LOL
How many cans did you use for the entire headliner?Anything need to do before painting it?
702 what happened? did you get those screws?
I just got off of work and am about to go to autozone right now LOL. I'l go takea quick pic right now. of the headliner without the sunvisors up.

There are a few spots on the liner that I have to touch up after getting it into the car. When you put the liner back in the car make sure you put a plastic bag over your headrest so that they dont make rubmarks on the liner. I have about 3 areas that i have to touch up when its a little less windy out. I'm going to have to find a way to spray inside the car, but that will be anohter time. Also make sure you have someone there when you are putting the liner back in makes it 100x easier.
