hey i have a question...i wanted to do this but i have the side apron air bags...and i was wondering if it was ok to pull the headliner off with those airbags in there? or should i not even try?

702Fairlady 02-25-2007 04:22 PM

I really dont know. I have a base with no airbags so mine was pretty easy.

litlechina 02-25-2007 05:17 PM

anyone know?

looks sweet....get some day shots :)...id say it looks factory...but honestly what factory spec has a black headliner? ive never seen one haha:icon39:

DesiZ_06 02-26-2007 05:53 AM

doesnt look properly done..look at that white smear between the light and visor...and look at the edge of the headliner near the door..looks faded out...

is it just the pic?...

nice effort by the way! looks good overall

702Fairlady 02-26-2007 10:28 AM

Yes the white smear between the visor and light is just reflection form the flash of the camera same with the edge. The only rubmarks are right on in the middle of the drivers side from where it rubbed up against the drivers headrest whrn was putting it back in, and one more somewhere near the rear of the liner.

anyone know the answer to my question about the side airbags and how safe it is to take the headliner off?

Should be fine, I would def disconnect the battery first and take out the air bag fuse, just for safe keeping.. Just my :twocents:

well ya know he was kinda on a roll there..1st the visors..then the headliner...i just thought i cheer him on and motivate him to paint more =(..
you dont have to call a dude out like that =(

Scarab440 03-17-2007 04:27 PM

you wouldn't happen to have a close up of the map lights. I'm thinking of doing a seude healiner and dont know if i'm going to pant it or try to get it CF wrapped.

Cux350z 03-17-2007 06:10 PM

did pesci use gloss paint and 702 use flat black? imo, pesci's fabric looks better.

looks good guys! i saw that paint at advance yesterday and thought about painting my headliner/visors/maplight. Just didnt know how itd turn out.

does it make the car smell like paint?

Shift_Z33 03-17-2007 07:53 PM

Looks good from pics but I'd have to see it in person to judge.

Cux350z 03-18-2007 01:59 PM

did mine today.

used 2.5 cans of gloss black and .75 can of flat. My visors were different which made it easier and use less paint. 03's don have the slide out portion.

Needs lots of blue tape too!

gloss on all the fabric? and flat on all the plastic?

Cux350z 03-19-2007 05:40 PM

2 cans of gloss on the head liner. used flat on the visors as a base then .5 can of gloss to finish of the plastic parts/visors.

like the results?
