Nice job. I would have never thought about using gloss for fabric. What's the difference between gloss and flat on the headliner? In any case it looks good.

By the way, do you have side airbags? If so, was taking the headliner off an issue? Does your interior smell like paint?

i think the gloss only gave a darker black on the cloth. on the plastic it looked mostly the same, less gloss tho. I didnt want the plastic to stick out a much as it did, would have liked to of tried a dark grey or something.

it did smell like paint this moring but i aired it out on the way home from work and its fine now (slight headache on the way to work, i had let the headliner dry for about 2-3 hrs before i put it back in).

no curtain airbags here. id suggest to just discconet the battery and be careful with them.

getting the headliner isnt easy at all:

you have to remove 8 interior pieces, 3 weather strips (welts), 4 pins, 4 screws, 2 twist lock pieces, both headrest, and theres some pop pins holding the center lights/sunglass holder in. Takes about 15-20 min or so. Then you have to rotate the headliner and take it out through the rear.

also, im going to get some better pics later this week, my battery was dying and i was in a rush. it looks really good imo, ive gotten a couple compliments on it already.

I removed the headliner by myself, if your careful you dont need a helper.

can someone give me the dimensions of the "warning decal" on the sun visors U.S. version? It's seem they're half of the european version...

Nice work. ;)

Think that would work to color the whole top roof interior?

word of caution... your car will smell like paint for a good 2 months just from the sunvisors being painted! No idea about headliner!

i did the visors/liner and the smell was only there for like 3 days, just let it air out.

IDriveRealSLow 07-10-2007 07:14 AM

does it feal normal ? any smudging off ? i think wrapping the headliner with a fabric would be safer and probably nicer but more expensive.

I covered my headliner in cloth.. It looks great.. Might be selling it soon, planning on getting rid of my car..

I had the windows down driving too but they smell was always there... i think the heat made it worse sometimes. I got one of those air fresheners and it smells good now though :icon17:

im having trouble getting out all the plastic components, can any1 be any clearer on how 2 get them off?

rxkevin 09-27-2007 06:21 PM

Any specific piece?

For the Visors you really just need to pull, or use a screw driver. They all come out really easily.

nickZ33 10-01-2007 06:48 AM

i cant get the dome light piece out or the part for the visors lol. i feel like an idiot (as i should) every1 else can get the plastic pieces out and i cant haha. any1 got any kind of tip or something? or maybe specifically how they popped theirs off?

reptile718 10-01-2007 07:08 AM

I might try this over the weekend but I think a flat black might look better on the plastic pieces and maybe a gloss on the headliner to make it look dark as posted earlier. ill post pics when its done.

nicholasm617 01-07-2008 04:40 PM

how do you pop out the center light/glasses holder?

RedBullRR 01-08-2008 07:22 AM

That looks pretty good!
