Hey I have a question or two. First, (and I am new to this) is there a way to change out the amber reflector inside the lights to clear like this post? Also, while your inside the light, has anyone thought about doing the other painetd surfaces in CF??? I think that would be tight. I really have gained allot of help and information from you guys, THANKS.

I'm trying to choose an LED that will match a 6000K HID color--can I use the "luminous intensity" ratings of those LEDs on superbrightleds.com to estimate their color?

Another Idea
Want to thank the OP for the ideas. What I did: Got a set of clear side markers. I carefully separated the reflector from its chrome plastic backing using utility knife (basically loosened the glue). I bought a set of LED strips from ebay(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2x-Fl...5841QQtcZphoto
Cut them to size, then took 3m backing off and put on the chrome backing(front shiny part) drilled a small whole through the backing to route the wires. Then using 5min epoxy, glued the clear reflector back to its backing/housing. Then wired in like OP. FYI, definitely much easier taking bumper off. looks good. Leds are smaller but 9 of them show up. Just make sure when you trim the led to size you do it in 3's. Meaning the leds work in 3 led clusters. Meaning that you can only have a multiple of 3's working. ie 3,6,9,12,15.

I was just going through this post and had an idea.
I am going to do this mod but didn't want the ridiculously bright look and the clear marker on the side cus im going to have black head lights soon and i think black headlight and clear side markers would look gay(IMO).
So what im going to do is put 5-7 ultra brights then put a smoke or black out tint over the outside.
It would be black in the day and shine through at night.
What do yall think?
