Ok I found some manuals but still don't know what wires are what.

The harness I have is the one that plugs into the heated seats switches. I think it is on PG-47 Of the factory service manual found on 350ztech Its plugs M154 M155 M151 M152 M157

Cant post the manual since it is really large file.

found this pick of the harness that came with the OEM switches. I was thinking I could chop off this white plug and just hook up power and ground? What do you all think. Would I need to connect anything besides maybe red and black wires?

You are looking at the wrong wiring diagram...you need the onen that traces each wire through the car. If I have time this week I'll see if I can find it for you; I know for a pact its in the service manual.

In the meantime, test those wires with a voltmeter. My guess would be white and red are power, green is control and black is ground. Not sure about the other two.

Ok cool. Just to put it out there my idea is this. Figuring your "three prong switch idea"

So your switches have power, ground and switched power. I was thinking I could plug in that white plug to the OEM switch and cut off the plug and leave a couple of inches of wire to work with. The small harness would be useless now since it is cut apart. Now I was wondering if I could tap into three of those (now cut) colored wires and run power, ground, and switched power from the OEM switch. Instead of using those connectors that you used for your radio shack switches I would just be tapping into three of the wires coming out of the OEM switch. And have the other three colored wires just sitting there cut and useless. Power would be run from the rear power outlet to one of the colored wires. Ground would be run from somewhere in the car to a colored wire. And switched power would run from a colored wire to the seat heat module itself! This is just a thought?

i did the leather seat swap and im having a problem with my power windows, the passenger seat is going forward but not back and my driver is not doing anything, i know that there is powering going to the seats because i ran the power from the cig lighter and the cig lighter still works. i dont know why i did this but i ran the ground wire from the cig lighter and not just grounded it from some were under the seat. Does anyone think that might be a problem and does any one have any feedback on this i would really appreciate it because i was so frustrated after doing all that work and no moving seats

Haven't been on here in awhile, but I'm not sure your idea will work because the wiring in the factory switches is different. You'd have to map out the wiring because the factory switch uses a two position toggle (low and high heat). You might be able to make it work but it will be an on/off deal.

My guess is that you blew a fuse somewhere. The power seats, believe it or not, draw quite a bit of power. I experimented with some fuses and found they require a 15 amp fuse. I would ground the wire underneath the seat; don't use the cig lighter ground.

Yea I don't care if it is only ON and OFF, and not HIGH and LOW. Any more help would be great. I started my own thread on this issue!

Just finished doing this. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll post some info.

FYI - I was putting 03 seats into an 06. There are wiring color differences across the years so that will need to be taken into account when attempting yours...

Thanks,

Davy

I'll try and do it this evening - basically I'm just going to detail the color codes of the wiring. If you're able to hook up the power seats, then this shouldn't cause too many difficulties.

Davy.
