Default Need Some Interior Wiring Help

Hey everyone. I want to hook up the heaters in my leather seats into my Base model Z that is not equipped with the proper harness (using OEM switches). I have been trying to do this mod for over 2 years now with no luck!

The first pic here is this harness that came with the switches. 6 wires running out of the switch. I was thinking I could cut off all useless wires and run the remaining useful wires to the seat.

Thing is I don't know what wires to cut, what wires to run to the seat, and what wires to connect to under the seat.

Second pic is just close up of the harness not plugged into the OEM switches. Harness has a tag on it! Says 24019 CD001 with big S in upper right hand of tag. Under bar code it reads. HN5KDH80002

Any help would be AWESOME!!!!

i dont think its that simple man...i got a set in my car too that i never hooked the heat up...u need relays and lots of stuff to make the heaters work i believe...hooking up the power to thew seats so they move is simple but the heat a little more complicated...back in the day i bought all the stuff i needed just never did it...get yourself the wiring diagram from the car and take it from there. if u can read a wiring diagram its simple to see what parts u need...thats your best bet. thats how i did it.

Yea it is next to impossible to use all factory wires and harnesses. I just want to use the OEM switches instead of the radio shack switches this guy used to hook up the heaters.

crap, okay dude, i one day was bored and read throught all the diagrams....it can be done.

the oem switches have two hots.......so thats where the wiring gets confusing......

i had to pull the switch apart to physically disable one of the hots in the switches in order to run aftermarket headed seat pads in my Xterra - a project im not done with yet either....but i got the switch part right..

get the FSM - http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/

do your homework or get/hire an electrician/audio video installer to help you.........and not a typical stereo installer....someone that knows how to read diagrams!

Remember, when looking at the harness diagrams in the manuals you are looking at them as if you were (looking at them from the front wires coming out to back and your looking at the pins).

Did you ever figure it out? I have oem heater switches as well as the the harness (uncut) and need the pin outs to connect my aftermarket seat heaters.

when i added them in my old car it was a BUS info system which controlled the seat temp. People tried to hook up two coils in parallel for the rear seats and it would turn off the entire circuit thinking it was overloaded.

The Z looks like a much simpler push switch but it must have some sort of a regulator so the coils dont burn up.

If i get a chance when i do my headunit, ill try to get some voltage read outs for you off the stock heaters on my touring.

Just to clarify, you have them working just not with the oem switches?

Do you have the dual mode working too ?

If thats the case, i can try to get my hands on a stock heater switch and take it apart for you. It most likely has to be hard wired so it acts just like an on off toggle.

Cheers
