Default DIY for mounting TPMS Sensors

Many aftermarket wheels are not TPMS friendly. I got quoted $186 for a tire place to "retrofit" my TPMS in place with their banding kit. I decided to go another route:

I used the 1/2 inch "plywood sheathing clips" things as mentioned in another thread.
plus 3M doublestick tape
plus some super big (48") zip ties or "Heavy Duty Ties"

1) Bend 3 of the tabs on the plywood spacer flat.
2) Affix the spacer to the wheel with 3M double sided tape
3) Use 2 36" zip ties to wrap around the wheel (and through the one bracket tab that is sticking up) and trim the extra lengths
4) Apply another square of double stick tape to the bracket (over the zip tie obviously)
5) Stick the TPMS sensor onto the bracket and screw it on through the bracket as well (see pictures for orientation)

Just did it today but I think it should hold up well.
If anyone wants these supplies, PM me because I have a bunch of extra.

The idea came from these threads:

Well the update is not good. On a little trip they all came loose (except 1). I am not sure how the zipties failed, but they did. USE METAL BANDS!

IM sure the zip ties would work if you mounted the tpms near the zip tie head and then secured it a bit better.......hummm???

zip ties probably failed because of the heat maybe? believe it or not rims can actually get pretty warm.
