Default Help me Decide/Stoptech or Rotora

Here is my dilemma, Stoptech verses Rotora.

This one: http://www.350zmotoring.com/forums/s...threadid=18605

Or this one: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....hreadid=105371

Stage 2 kits include
For non-track model cars includes front and rear Hawk HPS brake pads, front and rear StopTech SS brake lines, three 500mL bottles of Motul RBF600 DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid, and pair of front and rear stock sized StopTech cross-drilled brake rotors.

Price is $649 for the entire kit with either Drilled or Slotted Rotors at all 4 corners.

Last question, drilled or slotted? I might track the car this summer.

I know there is a $449 difference, but I would get the pads, lines, & fluid.

So which would you get, Stoptech or Rotora?

Your going to base your decision on 2 votes, haha. I know I was the 2nd vote. I went with drilled.

I would suggest saving your money if you are going to track the car. Use the $700 you are planning on spending and get a BBK. I have Rotoras on my car and they work great.

Our Stage II kit is not designed specifically for the race track. My first question is, are your rotors worn out? If not, then don't spend your money on new rotors. If you are just looking for a performance upgrade that you can take on the street and track, I'd buy our Stage I kit for the street, and some race pads.

Stage 1 Brake Kit
Stage 1 brake upgrade kit for 2003-2004 Nissan 350Z except Track Model. Includes front and rear Hawk HPS brake pads, front and rear StopTech SS brake lines, and three 500mL bottles of Motul RBF600 DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid. FITS STOCK CALIPERS.
$299.00 - Item No. 86-646-01410

The Stage I kit is a great upgrade for street and autoX, canyon driving, etc. When you go to the track, swap in some good race pads like these:

Front Pads - Hawk Blue 9012 Race Pads
$130.00 - Item No. 63-450-0815

If you need new rotors because yours are worn out...then get the stage II. However, make sure that you get race pads before you go on the track. If you don't, you run the risk of destroying your rotors because of uneven pad transfer. Street pads are not designed to handle the temperatures that you would see on the track. They break down, burn up, and deposit all over the rotors.

If the Stage I + race pads are not enough to handle what you throw at them on the track, then your next step would be a full BBK like this for more heat capacity:

StopTech front wheel Big Brake Upgrade for the 2004 Nissan 350Z. The kit includes ST-40 4-piston front calipers painted red, black, or silver, 7075-T6 billet aluminum caliper mounting brackets, 332x32mm slotted, floating, front AeroRotors, 7075-T6 billet aluminum AeroHats with directional standoffs, StopTech SS (DOT compliant) front brake lines, Axxis Ultimate front brake pads. Requires 17 inch or larger wheels, however not all 17 inch wheels will fit. Please check the wheel fitment chart for your car. Options: Drilled rotors - $100 per pair; Yellow or blue paint - $200 per pair of calipers and 30 day lead time.

$1995.00 - Item No. 83-646-4600

I agree, but I think there is also some bling factor in the nice slotted or drilled rotors that he may also want.

J Ritt, is there any kind of database on what offsets will clear the Stoptech 14" 4 wheel kit?

I found the templates, but they don't help as I'm going to order the wheels in a size to fit the brakes.

I'm looking at 19" Volk GT-C or maybe SF-Challenges. for an '05 G35 coupe. I'm assuming the 03-04 kit will fit on the '05s - is there any info on that yet?
