I've been warned about the ride quality of coil-overs. Should I be worried about this with the Tein Basics???
they know what they're doing.. it's just that i kept playing around with my suspension. i had the sleeve type coilovers on my previous car which had a harsh ride but i'm not sure about real coilovers. I think you should just go with what everybody said here about the basics.. i just bought a set and now i gotta find some time to put it in myself.
accordfreak, definitely let us know how the Tein Basics ride once you put them in your G. Also let us know how much you decided to lower it. Before/after pictures would also be awesome! Thanks.
I put on Tein Basics last summer. They ride awesome, it's a bit more stiffer than the stock ride which would equate to a tad stiffer than the Z's suspension. Nothing to jarring though, just feels really tuned and rebounds quickly. However, my dad thought it was too stiff. I don't exactly know how much I lowered it but its one finger gap (approx 1/4-1/2") I have -2.1" camber up front with no adjustment at all, and -1.0 camber in the rear with my Kinetix camber arms and SPC toe cam bolts. Everything else is in spec. I have a lifetime alignment at Firestone for $150.00 Pretty much worth it, I already got like 3 alignments from playing around with my suspension.
i currently have the eibachs and am thinking of going with some coil overs i beleive the eibachs are a 1" drop but im not sure, anyways my wheels are 20s and i want to drop the car lower but not toooo much.... would tein basics drop it about 1.5 inchs? basically im looking for the coilovers that over a 1.5 inch drop with the best ride since i am going for ride comfort and appearance instead of performance ( would like better performance but ride as well. )
thanks!
thanks!
