In and of itself, swaybars would not require a re-alignment. BUT, if you haven't had an alignment done since purchase, it would be wise to do so. Had mine done within 30 days of purchase of my '04 (purchased 1/04) & the specs were WAY OFF from the factory - would've feathered my fronts useless within 6 months. Now I do an alignment twice a year.....have over 12k miles on my Goodyear GS-D3's and they look perfect (except for standard wear).
Z cruzn, what changes in alignment to you see after 6 months?
Actually, the changes made the next time after the first alignment were minimal - were still within spec range after 6 months, but altered #'s slightly to get them exactly on the spec recommendations (toe - front & rear). I also did an alignment after install of the Nismo suspension & sways (9 mos. after Z purchase) - lowered car about 1" & needed adjustments after the suspension settled for a month - needed bigger changes. It's been 6 mos. since then & going to get it in next week for next alignment to see how it's changed in 6 months.
I look at it this way - I'd rather spend $60-$70 on an alignment twice a year or so in order to assure the tires last a bit longer (especially with the cost of my Goodyear's - ha!). Without the ability to rotate tires due to stagger size & rotational requirements, the alignment is about the only thing we can due to lengthen the life of our tires. Most of my concern has been with the front toe measurements - the culprit of the feathering problem. It's just a "peace of mind" thing for me, you know?
