Default Stock Rotors wearing out at low milage?

Hey guys, just a quick question. Is it common for the stock 350Z rotors (front) to wear out at pretty low mileage? I am barely replacing my first set of brake pads at 24K miles (I brake gently) and apparently the rotors were worn down enough that if I get them resurfaced, they would be right at the bare limit for thickness. Is this common?

(ooops, wasn't finished)....has anyone else had to replace their rotors from wear at such low mileage? Does this mean with stock rotors I will usually have to change them when I change the pads? BTW, mine is a 2003 350z.

yeah its called stock brake pads..
my friend had that issue at 8k it was horrendous.. they were grooved badly.. we swapped to endless brake pads and resurfaced them and he has been good.. less brake dust than stock and more braking power as well as more rotor friendly..

also when i purchased my 05 350z.. the first thing i did was swap my brake pads front and rear to endless brake pads.. and i have been loving it since.

A to your Q... Yes, it seems as if you stay stock for the duration of the Z, you will have to replace the rotors and pads in sequence. I think I'm going to get the Stillen rotors or RotorPros rotors for my next set, since this is the case. Stupid azz Nissan...!!

ps I have 19,500 on my Z...took it in to PepBoys and they calibrated the brakes...told me I have 40% left on the front brake pads, but will have to replace my rotors when that time comes...the fact that I didn't have to replace my pads yet was the only thing good that came out of my visit.

uhhh...how exactly did they 'calibrate' your brakes? Did they show you what they did?

Or by calibrate, do you mean wear-test?

I am only asking because Disk brakes dont have to be calibrated for smaller thicknesses, they have square cut o-rings that will automatically adjust to the smaller size. Thus, if they said that THAT is what they did, you got jipped.
