Default What suspension is right for me?

Hey all, I've never purchased an aftermarket suspension before so I'm not entirely sure what I should be getting. I've read a lot of the threads here so I have a good idea of what diffrent companies have to offer, but I'm just wondering what would be overkill for the way I drive my Z.

My Z is my daily driver, and while I haven't tracked it yet, I'd like to in the future (although I don't expect I'll be able to get out to the track all that often) so I'm mostly looking for daily comfort (for my girl's sake) and keeping it fun and somewhat aggressive (for my sake). Honestly, if I could keep the feel of the stock suspension, minus the freeway hop and make it loose a bit of the understeer, I'd be happy.

Seems like the Nismo S-Tune is a good average package and a reasonable price (not to mention keeping my warantee -- all 6k miles left on it...), but I wonder if that is still overkill for what I want. What do you guys think/recommend?

Thanks

Hotchkis TVS1 (includes linear drop springs and front and rear adjustable sway bars) Price is about $470. This should suit your needs..

Call Performance about that.....I'm sure they'll help you out. Don't forget your member discount code in the price.

Also, what makes this package better than others out there? Why not the Tein Luxury springs with other sways?

I left the stock springs and front shocks but had g35 rear shocks installed and switched to Michelin Pilot A/S tires. It is a much improved ride (no bounce) and makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.

The G35 rear shock idea was orginally posted by jhanna in the long koni thread.

These were more attractive to me becasue they were designed together by a very good company. I also really like ed these since the spring rates were linear ... I had progressive ebach springs prior to this ... and didnt like the way the car felt t ome on them ... so I wanted to get linear springs.

Fitment with the G200 is unkown ... you would honestly be the test mule as far as I know.

Looking at this:

http://www.hotchkistuning.com/bin/in...ions/22413.pdf

Implies that it probably won't work with a true dual, right? Looks like most sways have 1 bend in them, so how are they working with the true duals?

i would suggest Koni Adjustable shocks. If you are going to an Auto-X or Road Racing, you can easily firm up the shocks, and for the drive home with your girl, tune down the stiffness for more comfort. I use these with Hotckis sways and Tanabe NF springs which offers great ride, a great drop(for visual appeal) . The sways will not make the ride better or worse, it will only prevent the "body roll" you feel when turning away. It makes on/off ramps alot more fun. The tein and hotckis springs are also good choices.

You'll be fine. The hotchkis are just thicker than stock, not a reshaped bar. I am running the greddy duals with the hotchkis and no problems

Hrm, after reading all this about having to get collars and the like, I'm not sure I want to go with this option. I don't have the means to lift my car, and replacing the bushings each year (or when they start making noise) doesn't sound good to me. What other combos are there out there that are a bit more fire and forget?

you dont have to get collars for them. I didn't and have no problems at all.

Replacing the bushings? they are the same material as stock ... doubt youll be replacing them anytime soon.

You live in SoCal .... there is nothing here that will be degrading out bushings and undercarriage very quickly ... don't worry about it.

I dont have collars either. I have no weird sounds or noises from the bushings as well.
