Default Brake pad install...$600!?!?

All, I have a newb question.

Typically, when you replace your pads do you also need to resurface your rotors and flush the system? I'm changing from stock pads to Hawk HPS pads. I've called a few places and they are all recommending that I resurface the rotor and flush the system which will run me about $600. This is my daily driver and I don't do any autox or track days and my car has about 34K miles. Are the installers just giving me crap?

Thanks,
Dave

I think you are in line for a good a55fuking. The shop that is installing my Vortech SC said they would install the Hawk HPS pads for about $100 a corner= $400. I then called my normal mechanic and he said he would do the install for $120-140. Look around, you will find it cheaper.

There is nothing to the install, jack up the car take the rotors to auto store to get resurfaced its like 15 per one so 60 bux total change pads your self and your done for 60 bux. I recomend doing this yourself but if you are really that bad with your hands go to brake masters 100 bux bleed break system resurface rotors and swap out ur pads
