Default Backing plate removal - Front ?

Hi pplz,

on Wednesday I get my new EBC Green Stufff installed in the Brembo System. The rotors are still the same. Question about the backing plate :

I´ve read often that removing of the rear backing plate kees the temps down, but what about the front backing plate? Should this also be removed, since the front brake uses much more stopping power and generates even more heat ?

What would you do ?

Thanx !

Greets

The rear backing plates cover the entire rotor while the front only covers the hub area so not much of an issue there. Have you taken off the rears? Take a look and you'll see the difference.

Hi arizzee,

I just saw the pics. That´s right, but I thought maybe the front plate prevents a better air flow, cooling the brake not that efficiently.

I will talk with my Dealer what he means and then I´ll go for it.

Thanx for you opinion.

Greetings from Germany
