Default Got Stoptechs for Father's Day - Part II

I just got back from bedding the brakes. I didn't think I would get so light-headed from doing the bedding procedure - but I did! Those 60-10mph seemed to drain out (or stop) the flow of blood in my head! After 6 of those, I felt tipsy!

I had the Hawks HPS pads on my stock calipers before the Stoptechs. I didn't get anywhere near being light-headed when I did the bedding procedure on those.

I would like to give props to the gang at Street Image for doing the install. They've done all my suspension and handeling mods and have taken good care of me and my car every time!

Now for some pics...

According to his sig, it's the Top Secret kit.

Looks like a "Fairlady" emblem.

I put the "Fairlady" emblem on each side. Here's a better pic.

Back on topic...the Stoptechs came w/ Axxis Ultimate pads. These pads really bite! I've read that they leave dust like stock pads. For the track, I'll be using the EBC Green stuff pads.

Now you need to take that car to the track and get those brakes hot so the hats turn a deep crimson. Then you get mad props.

Car looks fantastic!

I'd strongly recommend that you reconsider your choice of track pad however. I'd recommend either PFC 01, Pagid RS-14 (black), Pagid Orange, one of the Hawk race pads, etc. We've seen very poor results with the EBC pads overall, and I can't recommend them.

Xziteme, if you plan to track you car I would recommend brake ducts or something to keep your calipers cool. My silver Stoptechs turned gold from all the track events I have run. Initially they turned dark gold but Stoptech sent me some replacements (great service). The replacements turned gold also but not as dark and took longer for the color to fade.

Here is a link to some pics before Stoptech replaced my calipers.

A stoptech kit definitely in my future... not just for the performance, but I've also been feeling a little naked at the shows.

would love to be sporting some STs through my Enkei RP03's
That contrast you've got going is making me start looking at this again!

sigh...

All painted/powdercoated calipers will fade/change color with enough heat in them. Our new silver is much more resilient than our old silver, but still not perfect. Black holds its color best, followed by red, and then the others (silver, yellow, blue, gold). The white logos will eventually turn a bit tan/yellow. We cook our test painted parts in the oven at very high temps for an hour or so. Our paint holds its color better than anything else out there. We've experimented for many hours to get to where we are now, but there simply isn't a perfect solution at this time. Maybe some day technology will catch up to track abuse!

You should see the track model brembos after hard-track use...they turn chocolate brown! Their red ones on factory Evos turns pink (or the paint simply flakes off)...

Thanks for the info. I'll keep your suggestions in mind when I get track pads.
