For the $800 install (conservative $50/hr shop time) it damn well better correct wheel hop!!! Having some experience w/ aftermarket bushings (Prothane on Stillen sways) I'd suggest putting the $250 purchase price plus the $800 install toward a good set of coilovers--there are lots of quality kits out there in that price range. (I run Tanabe Sustec Pro-S-OC and really like the setup w/ my Stillen sways). Then, if you are still dissatisfied w/ the way your car handles, try these nismo bushings. My Prothanes made a difference, don't get me wrong, but that 16 hour install really made me hiccupp.
I'm no suspension guru-far from it-but that install price seems REALLY over the top. My 2c.

Fairlady in Japan--I realize you are probably ahead of most of in mods--I meant no disrespect. But for someone less advanced (particularly someone who does not regularly track his car) I suggest my comments have merit.

When I did the ES poly bushings on my previous car it cost me $400 for the labor. But that's only because my buddy was a part time employee in the shop and they let me do half the labor by uninstalling and installing the various suspension parts with their air tools. The suspension guru did the actual removal and pressing of the bushings. In total the cost to me was $400 for labor, ~$150 for parts (included motor mount bushings), and $100 for a custom performance alignment. We were doing two cars at the same time so it went a bit slow and took a day and a half. So maybe that 16-hour estimated time really isn't that far off.
I also tend to agree with JC. A good suspension setup is probably higher in purchase priority first over suspension bushings. Don't get me wrong though, the bushings do make a great difference on the track by removing slop and maintaining suspension geometry.

I agree with both of you - the priority should be 1/ new suspension and 2/ new bushings. If you have the money ... get both at the same time.
However, I was operating under the premise that nobody in their right mind would install the new bushings on the OEM suspension --- particularly on the bouncy 03 and 04 Z's.

I installed ES polyurethane bushings on my last car myself. (I have access to a hydraulic press.) No, it wasn't fun and, yes, it did take a long time but it was WELL worth it. I think that was my favorite mod.
It may not be so bad if you install them the same time you install new coilovers, either. In any case, if you can pull the different suspension pieces off yourself and then take those pieces and the new bushings to a shop that has a press, I don't think they'll charge you that much. Maybe do the rear one weekend and front the next. It doesn't seem like many people on this board do any work themselves, though, so this advice may be useless to some of you.
