I've had some experience w/HPS pads, and I don't think they bite much at all... The Axxis Ultimates bite much harder when cold or hot. The OEM's also bite harder than the HPS pads. For that characteristic alone, I don't really like the HPS's at all, and have abandoned them even though they provide significantly reduced brake dust. Both OEM and Axxis Ultimates dust like crazy.
I'm sure you can get used to the HPS's but you'll have to apply more pedal pressure to get the same amount of friction than the other pads. If you can still set off ABS anytime though, then the HPS is funtionally adequate. It then becomes a matter of preference....brake dust or initial bite.

When you bled was the ignition in the ON position?? I dont remember why, but I "think" it needs to be? (last time i did mine, i started the car.) Try bleeding just the outer 4 bleed ports (so you dont need to jack it up again.) That should do it. If that does it, then go ahead and do the inner 4 ports as well.
pm after your done and let me know how it goes.
