Does Aftermarket Suspension "Cure" Feathering?
I'm thinking of buying an '03 or '04 Z, but i'm concerned about the feathering issue. Seems like there isn't a permanent fix from Nissan (except "rigged" tires, and you're out of like after 36mo.).
What about aftermarket suspensions like Nismo etc. does it "fix" the issue? I'm thinking that sinking $1500 or so into the car upfront isn't so bad if it's known to get rid of premature feathering.
Any opinions.

Well...Basically when it all comes down a better replacement tire will help enormously with the "feathering" problem. The OEM tire is ****ing crap in my opinion.
Lowering or not lowering the car... If you're looking for no abnormal wear have your camber/toe settings withing factory spec. The front alignment settings aren't adjustable but camber adjustable A arms for the front would most likely fix the issue. You will sacrifice cornering as well with less aggressive alignement.
BTW: Nissan already has a recall for the problem in case ya haven't heard. The only fix is a better tire that doesn't wear out as much with aggressive alignment settings if i'm correct.
I'd use the search function for more research if i were you.

An aftermarket front suspension may allow you set the camber and toe to zero. Are you knowledgeable about suspension set-up and handling? Are you certain that you want the front tires to roll flat?
If you are that worried about tire wear you would be wiser to spend that $1500 on 4 sets of less sticky tires for the front with a better treadwear rating. Then they will last you at least 60,000 miles and you are good to go.
No it doesn't. I have Tokico D-Spec, with Tein S-Tech springs, and I still have feathering every 7000miles. I just rotate them left and right (remount), and keep on driving..
