they came with the car actually

The car was beaten as possibly hard as you can beat a car in Italy. The car was driven hard and it's on the same rotors as it came out of the factory.

difference is that a rotor on street compounds (like all street cars have, even porsches) will NEVER reach the extreme temperature peaks, or go through extreme temperature cycles for sustained periods of time. That happens only on track compounds on a track.

Honestly, I have NEVER seen ANY rotor be it drilled, slotted or even plain cracked outside a track environment. I wouldn't mind using a drilled rotor on a street driven car... even a midly tracked one on street compounds... If you know someone with cracked rotors on a street driven car... he probably bought the cheapest crap ever.

whatever advantage there might be drilling rotors is debatable

What would be the point of getting drilled disc you can't push hard?

The holes sees concentrations of constraint when heated. When the disc cracks, it will be around the holes.

The disc won't explode suddenly. It will last not last as long as a plain one, that's all.

Z1 Performance, I'd be curious to see a hi-res picture of your discs and know what they have been through.

I agree with you, proper pads selection is critical. This is why I run only plain discs with dedicated race pads when I'm on the track, and OEM pads for the street. No need for holes or slots.

The thing is, drilled discs are sold as a performance upgrade. People buy thems and head for the track, thinking this is the way to go. First thing we know, all the tiny holes have fissures...

How well do those Brembo cross drill rotors work with the Z's OEM Brembo calipers and pads?

Is it necessary to change the pads as well when upgrading from stock brembo rotors to cross drilled brembo rotors?

That sticker is rice, dude. Take it off immediately or face excommunication. This conversation is now over.

Nice rotors.

Dimpled rotors are all the rage now. I was up at the World Speed Challenge this Summer and almost every car had dimpled rotors. I guess you get the roughing effect of drilling without the nasty microfissures of drilling. I personally can't control the heat range of my pads while I'm out on the track and since it possible I could exceed a certain range, I would not run drilled rotors. I know Its done all the time and I rarely see a pro team's car drop out due to cracked rotors, but the only cracked rotors I've seen have been drilled rotors at HPDE's. Maybe people are trying to get too many days out of their rotors. There have been several stories on this board of cracked rotors and almost all of them have been drilled. Why take the chance?

Alright, I'll fess up and post my NISMO stickered car.

1113 font, bold.

My question is, can you get those brembo rotors WITHOUT the giant NISMO sticker?

And what is that thing behind the wheel? Nobody answered.

I had the EBC dimpled rotors and loved them, not a big fan of cross drilling myself.
