Do you have a picture of these springs installed in your ride? I want to get the Ti2000 with a Tokico D-spec shocks. I want to make sure that this will lower the car cause i'm in the market for buying 19" Volks or Racing Harts.

2003-2004 shock = extreamly high compression dampning without enough rebound dampning. Net = nice weight transfer control, but bounce during cornering will reduce cornering speeds. The shock does perform's well on totally smooth pavement, but when real world bumps and undulations are met, they move from the aset to liability colum. Bounce and porposing because of these shocks is a serious problem, enough to seriously hurt the resale market, if not kill it. Tokico D-specs are a much superior replacement.

2004.5+ shock = less compression dampning and more rebound control then above. Net = less control on weight transfer, chassis feels less willing to play, but everyday ride quality is night and day better with superior control of ride motion's. In the end some may not feel that the 04.5+ shocks softer feel is a enhancement, though bounce and porposing needed to die a cruel death. Tokico D-specs would be a better choice in valving performane and because you can adjust them for rebound and compression dampning.

+1 for the Tokico D-Specs. I am running these now with Espelir Active GT springs, and I find it to be a great combination.

A buddy of mine that I auto-cross with who also has a Z has the RS*R springs (and I was going to get them too). They are good, but the Espelir's are slighlty stiffer, and I like them better than the RS*Rs.

Not to highjack, but I have the D-Specs, what is the drop with the Espelir, do they "lean" the car to one side like the Hotchkiss, did you get it in alignment without extra parts?

The advertised drop with the Espelirs is 10mm front and rear (under 1/2"). But I am seeing a bit more than that (especially in front). The car is fairly level, side to side, with maybe a slightly further drop on the driver's side (no more than 1/4" different side to side, which is very normal). I am actually thinking of cutting half a coil or even one coil in the rear to get a bit more drop. I am already at 25.5" front (that's low enough for me - any lower and I can't clear my driveway) and about 27" rear. I would like another 0.25-0.5" drop in the rear.

As far as alignment, yes, I did have to get it aligned again. I am at about -2.0 degrees front, -1.4 rear, but that is where I want it (better for competition). I did buy Cusco A-arms front and SPC camber arms for the rear, but I haven't used them to bring alignment back to factory specs yet.

mikerz,
yes, the D-specs would be a good choice to match with these springs. although i have no personal experience, members on the forum have reported that the D-specs have suitable adjustment range that should include the spring rates of the RS*R's. the RS*R springs are the closest to the 2004.5+ OEM spring rates

ocdavid
no, springs/shocks should not affect TCS
