Question Need help troubleshooting please...

I put the rear springs (Tein S-tech) on and then had a shop do the fronts and align the car. They told me that the specs were slightly off but it should be ok. I took it around the block and it felt ok for the most part(thought it was me because I had not slept in a day and a half). Next day went to work and I could definately tell something was off. It has alot less steering resistance and it feels like steering a big sedan like the front wheels may be too far back or something. I found out that nissan has been rereleasing numbers for alignment and assume that the shop had old bad numbers. Where can I get the newest ones? Then I saw a post on MY350Z.com about having to plug in the Consult II everytime you change suspension and align or anything because the VDC will be off kilter, so it could be this too maybe? I also notice that the rear is lowered to 1 finger over the tire and front is still 2 and this is a couple days later. No rule on me. Front tire is 225/40/18 rear tire is 275/40/18 on factory wheels. I notice the tech also put the strut bar on while in the air and REALLY extended the lower assembly while mounting the struts(as in got a guy to put everything he had into it). Maybe blew a bushing?

Any help would be much appreciated and sorry for the length, I just wanted to reduce variables

Well I took a look at the front end and the lower control arm bushings are torn. This is the cause I beleive. It looks recent and they were pulling the arms to the ground with out loosening them first. I took it back and they said that it was normal wear for a 30'000 mile car and it was not new damage when there is no dirt in the tear and the coloration i completely different. Is this bull****?

As someone that has done my own R&D footwork concerning a ton of installs and uninstalls with the front suspension I would not blame the dealer for the torn bushing. It is a normal process to extend the suspension to gain the clearances required. IMO the amount of extension you witnessed might have only been possible as a result of the bushing being weakened to the point where it tore at full suspension extension, which would explain the lack of dirt in the tear. If you have a gift for the gab you might be able to convince the dealer into splitting the cost of a new bushing install in half with you. Something else to consider, might be a good time to contact www.japanparts.com and ask them to order you this Nismo bushing instead of using a oem bushing. The Nismo bushing is made of a harder type of rubber vs. the oem bushing.

Nismo bushing part number for the lower control arm (inside bushing)
54560-RRZ30

This is the description of the bushing as translated from Nismo’s Japan site, "Front trance berth link bush" (I know, but that's the english translation)
Cost is 3,000 yen. Of course your cost will depend on JapanParts.com.

Here’s the url for the Nismo bushings http://www.poweraxel.com/nismo/news/...5/n050026.html

AltaVista to translate http://babelfish.altavista.com/

Thanks, but I got them to replace the parts. They did not like it, but they broke it. I am just glad that the car will be in good condition again.
