Hello,

Just to clear things up..

Per A'pexi, these coilovers are made in Japan
Per Megan, A'pexi does not make coilovers for them

Hope this helps.

WHEW!!!! glad to hear!!! i'm glad Apexi, one of the most respected names in the Japanese industry, didn't lower themselves to hiring another company to make them private label parts... i might seriously consider these coilovers now...

They are the same crap! Look at them side by side for yourself. Apex doesn't make them for Megan because they don't make them at all, the dampers are crappy twin-tubes that are made in bulk in taiwan then sent off to dozens of companies who paint them nice, put there logos on them and assemble them as there own. That is how they can claim "made in Japan" hahahaha

Unfortunately this is pretty common in todays marketplace...

I got my Apexi Coilovers the friday before X-mas. I have to say first impression is mixed... I like the quality but besides the name Apexi N1 sitting on the side of these coilovers they look identical in every aspect to the megan racing coilovers as seen on ebay which leads me to believe that maybe they have been sub contracted out! I dont know whether or not this is coincidence but they have also gone with a setup to change the rear setup to a seperate spring and coilover exactly like stock setup. I was hoping that the rear springs would be attached to the struts like the picture suggests on I-M site. Its my fault i didnt ask. But other than that the coilovers look well put together and since i have them I might as well try them out and see how they perform i will do a more in depth write-up based on their performance when i get BJ to tune the suspension and install the control arms, sway bars and such.

You don't want to run coilover in the rear unless you strengthen the upper mounting points (two 8mm studs) as these shear even without the additional stress of the springs.

Depending on what your goals for the car are, this suspension may work for you, but I wouldn't waist any money on BJ or anyone else corner weighting, etc...

Please quit passing on incorrect information. We've already confirmed this so called myth to be complete and utter fiction in other threads on this forum.
BTW.. I have the Buddy Club Racing Spec coilover which do have the springs on the rear strut instead of in the stock location and so do a few others on this forum... No issues here.

No myth, have a look at your upper mount. I know of a lot of people that run there coilovers this way, but that doesn't mean it's safe. I know of 4 cars who converted to this setup and all had to weld in plates with larger diameter studs after the stock studs either bent, stripped, or completely sheard off.

theyve been installed for a while now, they have Apexi brand, ended up having 350evo do the work and set up the suspension with their control arms and stuff, i am super happy with everything, the suspension is perfectly balance and nimble.
