Default Tein Flex opinions

I'm thinking about purchasing the tein flex w/edfc. The only thing I'm worried about is the high spring rates. I know that it is about 100% higher than stock on the front and the rear. I drive the Z every day, and while I don't mind a stiff ride, I don't want to destroy my kidney's either.

Anyone with the tein flex have any opinions on the ride quality?

I have them. It really boils down to what you consider comfortable. They are quite stiff but I don't mind them. Stiffness is a relative term though and everyone has a different opinion on what is too stiff. Is there anyone near you who can give you a ride that has them in their car? That's the only way for you to know if they are too stiff for you.

Having said all that, they are not race car stiff and you can live with them daily driving if you're roads aren't too bad.

You do have a plan B option, have your selling dealer get you a set of 560lbs springs and run them in place of the 676lbs springs the Flex setup comes with.

Having tracked all things suspension for a long time on these cars, I can tell you that several owner reviews on the Flex setup have touched on the setups rather firm if not harsh ride quality even on the softest settings. Now, noticeing where you live, you should have a easy time in finding a owner with the Flex setup install local that would be willing to give you a ride in his car so you can see for yourself.

Yeah, roads in south florida are pretty good.

So you can change out the springs if they are too stiff? I didn't know that. Tein sells these?

I know ride harshness is pretty subjective. I would rather have a harsher ride with less floating in the turns, so I guess I prefer a fairly stiff setup.

I would start with the standard 12kg/mm springs that the flex come with (671lbs) If you don't like them, you can get 10kg/mm springs right from Tein for around $250 for all 4.

Our roads are pretty harsh and my Teins are set on the softest setting for everyday driving. I know it's pretty subjective, but these were a must-have after driving on the JICs for a month. If I accelerated in a corner the back-end wanted to skip across the pavement. The car feels much more firmly planted now.
