Default Rotora rotors not up to spec?

I just went this morning to turn the front rotors... Turned out my rotors were not up to spec even in parts that were not touched by brake pads. The standard thikness for 350z is something like 1.181 and my were 0.900 or something originally...

When you buyig rotors online nobody shows the specs... now I'm paranoid about what to buy....

You cannot compare the stock minimum spec's to an aftermarket BBK. You need to call Rotora and see the safe minimum thickness for those specific rotors

But why? It's all just big chunk of iron to get rid of heat. So more narrow means - not enough mass, I'd think

Thicker rotors would add more weight, not only that I'd figure it'd be more of a heat sink with more metallic material.

I send a question to Rotora and that's what I got back

Vlad,

Hello. All Rotora discs are with OEM specifications. There are 2 types of front discs for your Z:

1.
Non-Brembo caliper rotor.

2.
Brembo caliper rotor.

They both have different thickness. The rotor that goes with the Brembo calipers obviously is the thicker one.

hope this clarifies for you.

regards,

Tech

So I went into research mode again and found this
http://350zmotoring.com/2003_nissan_...fications.html

Which says that non-brembo should really be 0.95. As new Rotora was. Still no idea about how low can I go when resurfacing them...

for non-brembo, 2003 - 2005, new thickness = 24mm (.945"), min. thickness = 22mm (.866")
