BTW: go here for a good testing of brembo, stoptech, and normal brakes on the 350Z. People should read this article before deciding which brakes is good for their needs: http://www.zeckhausen.com/Testing_Brakes.htm

To sum it up, they tested a normal brake 350Z and the average out of 10 60-0 stops was 117 feet.

performance model average was 118 feet (that is more then the normal brakes!!)
track model average was 117 feet
350z with stoptech average was 115 feet

So, I don't understand why everyone with big brake kits can say that their car stops much faster. All I can see from the article is that it reduces brake fade, which is really good for a road track. big Brakes are not any better then normal brakes on the 350Z when needing to make an emergency stop on the street.

Sorry, and your point is? Tell me what has changed from five years ago with our brake system and I might think your reply has something to add to the debate.

BTW: 2002 was 4 years ago, I don't think the 350Z was available in 2001. And to be even more technical, it was December 2002, might as well be 2003. So that means the article was 3 years ago. So now that the Article is 3-4 years old, is it more creditable to you? Does it have to be a 2 year article for it to be of credit?

brembos have improved brake feel and better pad life at higher temps with a higher heat capacity.

they are not intended to stop your car faster on one cold stop.
they are however intended to stop the car better after your brakes are hot from a lot of high speed use.

on the street the benefits are not great, assuming you dont do a lot of aggressive backroad runs. the average person is ignorant of this, so don't get an inferiority compelx because of what some ignorant people tell you.

If you want improved braking feel over stock for street use:

get stainless steel brake lines (the stoptech ones are good).

That's all you need.

Alot of the cars you see today with aftermarket BBK's are strictly for looks, if your putting big bucks in you cars looks for showing BBK's are icing on the cake IMO, I own a track model with brembos and Stoptech high dollar 2 pc. rotors but do not track my car, I do enjoy cleaning my calipers after each wash, but thats me.

From the driver's point of view, the Brembo brake will feel much stiffer with less pedal free play and needs less foot pressure for similar retardation (this is why it feels like BBK brakes more).

Ultimately, both systems are traction limited (ie- You can lock the wheels, so better tires will slow you down faster).
