but isn't +12 offset a lot more aggresive compared to +24? I was thinking of doing +12 front & +22 rear so I'd have more equal sized lip for front & back

That sounds like kind of an unusual setup. I don't know if i'd try it. Not only do i doubt the brakes would clear, i'd also expect that even with the 9.5" you'd have gap between the outside of the fender and the wheel.
i've got 19" SF challenges (8.5" with +21 offset in the front) and the calipers are CLOSE. As in "about half an inch clearance" close. But honestly, different rim, more width, who knows?
