So for this mod, I know that camber would be affected since I am technically going lower (hence more negative camber), but will it also affect other specs simply because I have to remove the springs? If it doesn't affect my suspension settings, then I won't have to really get another alignment since I am already maxed out for camber adjustment, and I am already aware that lowering it more will create additional negative camber...
To answer the way you want the question answered. Your rear camber and toe settings will worsen with the mod. Plus the process to remove rear springs mean's the toe adjusting bolt's have to be loosened, yes getting a alignment is the right thing to do. Though I have to take the fifth on that since I tend to be in a consistent state of testing things out, like the 350Z D-spec springs I'm on with Koni shocks. And today I'm going to reinstall the Megan Racing coilovers, but with with some simple mods that I hope will make them a whole lot better.

Gsedan35, those are cool spacer!

What did you build them out of? Rubber? Aluminum? Would you be willing to frabricate a pair? (Haven't had time to install my d-specs yet... but that's a very effective way to adjust ride height)

is that your G35? Freaking Clean!

Pretty darn sure that most service writters will say yes on related suspension parts. Will it cause problems, no your only mildly changing static ride height in the rear.

I make the black spacers out of a simple plastic cutting board, painted it black once I got it cut and shaped. The clear spacers are make out of sheet lexan. You can same yourself a lot of work by just getting a 3/8" thick spacer that EnergySuspension makes out of polyurathane. All you have to do to it is make a simple razor cut to it and your ready to install.

Yeah it's my car, thanks.

Gsedan35 thanks for all the helpful info! You seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to suspension stuff!

The bold part above answers my question exactly. I just didn't know how to ask it since I'm not a suspension guru. BTW, if I DO proceed with this mod, how much more will I lower the rear if I trim that piece? I know people mentioned it above, but sometimes people have different results, which is why I'm asking...

Your welcome for the info, the car is kind of a hobby for me glad to help.

I got a .6" drop the first time around. When I wend back and used a dremel to shave the cut to be perfectly flat (got ride of all the ridges that were their), I ended up with a .8" drop. Since the first hacksaw cut won't be perfectly flat like my dremel work, you should get .5"/.6".

So that means there's not a linear relationship between how much you trim and how much the rear gets lowered? I really only want about 1/2" or so. Any more than that, I might as well get different springs.

I was just being lazy .

This might be the perfect thing for the tokico springs + shock combo 1.2" drop. For those who want it as streetable as possible, brining it around 1.0" would makes it much more manageable every day. (atleast the rear...)

I was thinking aluminum, so it's effect on the spring rate would be as small as possible.

I did this mod and it worked like a charm. That rubber is hard as hell to cut though, it has fibers in it.

looks good but you need a spacer in the rear. What offset is that wheel?

Cool, I just posted this exact same thing yesterday about wanting my rear lowered a half inch more.

May have to check this out closer.
