Just recent went to tein for a revalving, picked up their 06 catalog, mono flex seems to be the new thing.

Sorry to jack your thread but i also had some questions on the best coilovers. Looking to spend around 2k for a nice street/occasional track setup. Debating between the Tanabe pro7/hks/or possibly zeals. I know everyone will probalby suggest zealz but for an extra 600+ is it worth it over the new tanabe 7s?

hatchboi-
I sold my JICs to buy the Tein Flex and can't believe the improvement. The Tein actually absorb the road irregularities and the car sticks to the road instead of skipping across it.....
I purchased on the forums from a private party that sold his car without ever installing them. I relied on the advice of Z-Car Garage to select these.

Buddy Club Racing Spec with Battle Version camber and toe arms. Loving it!

Or you can just settle for the HKS.

I just had the new Greddy set installed by SGP and they are great. The ride is way better than stock and it is fully adjustable for back and fronts at the turn of a ****. The adjustments for each click is subtle but from "stiff" to "soft" the difference is pretty incredible.

I would let the smoothness of the city street's and of the tracks you'll run on be the deciding factor. The flex setup does have the reputation of being harsh even on it's softest dampning settings (though the Jic setup still is the king in that regard, and yet I really haven't seen honest review's of system's that run even stiffer springs yet still). Now you could alway's spend a bit more and get a set of 2Kg softer springs from Tein and run them instead, which is exactly that I would do.

Vs the RS setup, the HKS setup will be more forgiving on less then glass smooth surfaces. Based on a long running view at review's for both setup's, I would expect that if owner's had a chance to do back to back drives on both, they'd sense the flex's overall greater stiffness yet come away more impressed with the RS's valving and overall feel. Both setup's have very good review's on the whole, but my score card has the RS ahead in that regard.

The Tein and HKS are excellent products. Do not get the Tein Flex though unless your okay with a very firm ride. The HKS are softer and the Tein CS are softer yet.
