Budget lowering?
Well, my budget is about to max out, but I still need lowering for my Z.
I found some nice rims, but I really need lowering!
Is their a cheaper way than going with a fully suspension?
Has anyone done just the springs, or would that be a shame on the Z?
Please let me know what you think.

People are running lowering springs in combination w/the stock shocks. Hotchkis would be a nice alternative and also not break the bank as well as Tein S-Tech's or the H-Tech's. It all depends on how low you want to go.

Handling will not be so good and the OEM dampers will wear faster.
But yeah, you can run lowered springs only.
Just stay away from dilatation joints on the highway...
Considering the cost of the springs+installation+alignement involved, you might want to wait a bit and get the whole package done at one time.
If you do the install yourself, its not that bad, but otherwise, spending for the re-installing of the suspension plus a new alignement is not cost effective.

Z33 lowering springs that have enough spring rate increase as to impact shock life are very rare. Most all only offer up a mild increase in spring rate vs oem of only 5 to 14%.
It doesn't hurt to find out in posts like this if the owner has revised or unrevised shocks. The original shocks on these car's don't take as well to lowering springs as the revised shocks will, though Hotchkis springs were specifically designed to work with them.
Heres one lowering spring that comes to mind that would likely based on peak spring rates, impact shock life if at all. (excluding the Nismo T2 springs on purpose)
Espelir active GT 350Z part#ESG055 .4"/.4" drop progressive springs
Spring rates* 386/515 (softer initial rates unknown, peak rate ONLY shown)

I squeezed my budget a little more and decided to go with a fully adjustable suspension..
The Ksport which is adjustable in height, hardness and camber.. I got a good price on it from the my local Ksport dealer, thats why I went with this particular setup.
Has anyone tried it or have any comments on it?
