Default Brembo or Endless?

Hi everyone.

I have a non brembo Z and Im looking at changing the braking system.

Which do you think would be better?

1. Original Brembo Front and Rear

or

2. 6 pot Endless Front only (rear standard non brembo)

Here is a pic of the set Im looking at.

Opinions please.. Thanks..

The Endless are a great set...but keep in mind those are using stock Brembo sized rotors, not the larger Endless offerings. Good units for sure, but pads for the brembo's are cheaper and there is a wider supply of options out there.

Depends on why you are putting a BBK on your car. If you're doing it just for looks, then you should get a 4 wheel kit. If you are going to track your car, then front only would be good enough; and I would recommend the brembos because there is a bigger pad selection for brembos than for the endless.

I'd be curious to know the piston diameters within the Endless 6-piston caliper. The kit in the photo looks like the Endless set up is using a factory disc from the Track Model. If the 6-piston calipers increase piston area, which in turn provides more clamping force, you will most likely be introducing too much heat into the factory size disc. Not to mention that you will be shifting bias more towards the front of the vehicle.

There is an allowable tollerance for change in bias were the vehicle will still perform well, but if it is a large shift outside of the allowable tollerance it can have adverse adverse effects on performance.

Now, if you're only doing it for looks and you'll never be driving agressively enough to overheat the system you should be fine.
And, as long as it's not a reduction in piston area, shifting bias to the rear, then you should also be ok.

If you're doing it just for looks I guess it comes down to "JDM" style...or an upgrade to what the Track Model guys already have.

If you're doing it for performance, try to find out the piston area in the Endless caliper. Also keep in mind what pads you'll want to be using on the street or at the track. If you can't source the pads you want then you may want to consider the Brembo set up which has unlimited resources for pad choices. Also think about replacement caliper components, or replacing whole calipers, if you ever have an accident or loose a part.

That is not quite true, increase in piston area reduces clamping force if you are not changing the master cylinder and brake booster.

Thanks for the replies. If I have the brakes changes to the Brembos or even the Endless, would I need to change the Master Cylinder or brake booster to the track model one?

No.
Master Cyclinder for all Z models are the same.

I have 14 inch Brembo BBK on mine. No need for Master Cylinder change
