Also, toe is the major factor in tire wear. My car, when at .75" total toe and 2 deg camber for the rear destroyed tires in 3000 miles. When at 3deg camber and 0 total toe, the tires have more than 10000 miles with a good amount of tread left.

Newbie question
Can I ask some beginner questions here, please?
I notice that on my car (and other Z's I've seen) that the rear wheels seem to tilt inwards at the top. Is that what they mean by "negative camber"?
Or is this an optical illusion b/c of the rounded body shape, etc?
Also, is there any difference between "camber" (on the front wheels) and "steering axis inclination"?
I'm trying to catch up on this stuff.
Thanks,
joe

Hey Yellow Stealth! Thanks for that link. That'll shut me up and keep me busy for awhile. I'm trying to learn as much as I can, as fast as I can. OK, so it IS negative camber on the rear then.
Now I know I'm a "reserved driver" (at this time, anyways )
All best,
Joe

Why do you want to get rid of negative camber? It helps the car....only truly excessive amounts hurt (we're talking 3+ degrees) in terms of wear, and even then, its primarily hurting you if you do nothing but drive straight
As for your tire wear, its all about how you drive, and what tires you are running
I got 30k out of a set of T1S running gobs of camber (over 2 degrees front and rear)

You will always have a little bit of negative camber if you lowered the car, with shocks, springs, coilovers...etc
I have a bit of negative camber on my car which is running tokico's and sportlines, and it's not that big of a deal. That is the sacrifice...Those camber kits help a little bit but, they aren't going to get rid of the camber.
And having negative camber is better performance wise. But if you are worried about the mileage you are going to get out of the tires, just be careful with them, and don't do any drifting
