Talking baer 6 pot 14inch brake kit just installed.

omg.... first off, the 14inch brakes with the 6 piston calipers fit inside the factory 18 inch touring wheel with no need for spacing... it looks rediculous and stops on a dime.... i put the kit on the front and rear brakes as well... i suggest anyone interested in purchasing a stoptech kit, please consider the baer as well.. for around the same price as a 4piston stoptech kit you can purchase the 6piston baer kit...i will have pictures up later this week...

No...only the front. Putting BBK on rear is overkilled.

Default no such thing as overkill

these calipers and rotors weigh less and dicipate heat quicker. and still uses the normal brake bias. if rear big brakes were overkill then somebody should let ferrari and porsche know they are wasting money.

Resize the image using photoshop or some other photo editing program. (640x480 or less)

Then upload them here: http://www.imageshack.us/

It will show hyperlinks that you can post in a message board and then we can all see the pics.

Best Regards,

Agustin G.

70-80% of braking is done by Front brakes. Most tuners recommend Front BBK only since 350z rear brake should be good enough.

I've had good success with Baer in the past. I'd like to see what they have as well.

What was the price you paid for them? I checked with a Baer dealer here and they wanted $3000'ish canadian, which I thought was expensive.

For most cars, I would agree with you. However, the rear brake pads on the 350Z are barely larger than postage stamps. At a track event, even with race friction, they will be eaten up very quickly. (Cutting away the rotor dust shield helps.)

If your goal is to end up with a 350Z that can be tracked without having to replace rear race pads every track day, then a 4-wheel BBK may be a good choice.

Of course, if your BBK decision is being driven by aesthetics, rather than racing, then a 4-wheel BBK is also the way to go.

For almost every other car I deal with (except the G35), I advise my track customers to save their money and go with a front-only upgrade. Any money spent on a rear BBK is money they could have spent on something else, such as a Bondurant or Skip Barber racing school.
