Default Rear Wheel Camber Alignment issue - New tires/reaction time

Good afternoon,

Went shooting with my Sig Sauer P220 at Daggett,CA (fun!) this weekend then did a few donuts on the dirt for fun before going home. I started to drive back on the road and heard ticking sound hitting the wheel well. Turns out my tires were really worn and had strings coming out of them. I had my (2003 350Z Performance w/18 inch rims) four tires replaced at Goodyear Tire near South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. Kept the same 225/45/r18 in the front and 245/45/r18 in the rear. I had the Bridgestone Potenzas all around (came with the car when bought at 28k miles) but now got cheaper tires for personal reasons. I got Dunlop Direzza's in the front and Goodyear Fierce HP (not UHP) in the rear.

They did a free alignment check and told me the rear camber was way off, i.e. < -2 degrees something like -2.7 degrees on both sides. They told me I would have to get a camber kit (which they said would be pricey) to correct the alignment problem. My fronts were worn even but the rears did wear out a lot more towards the inside of the car than the outside. Would I really need a camber kit to correct my Stock 350Z’s alignment issue? My car has 46k miles on it now (7/2006) and I have the extended warranty (until 100k miles). Does anyone now, if I would need a kit or the camber arms replaced, would they be covered by the extended warranty?

When I drive my car now it feels like I am driving on pillows or as though I am driving a boat. When I turn somewhat abruptly it takes longer to react to my input. Is this because of the softer tires or the alignment problem (will it go away when the rears start to wear towards the inside)? I know the Potenza’s have a thick sidewall being run flats and all; so does that make them react better to abrupt turns? Someone please enlighten me with these issues? I thank you in advance.

FYI, I am 24 had my car since 11/2005, not subsidized; I work. Also, I have beaten a few 350Zs, GTOs, and S2000s. I have not had a chance to race an EVO or WRX. My car is stock so I do not intend on racing the new Z06. I did keep up with the Porsche Carrera GT on the 5South one night. It was wayyyy too loud. I could hear its engine (loud) when it was more than a ¼ mile away. The guy driving it was wimp btw; only took it to 135 mph.

Check the tire pressure. They might have overinflated them!

You sure it was a Carrera GT? The supercar that costs $500k?

Definitely a Black Porsche Carrera GT. Caucasian Male Driving, looked around 35-45, no plates on the car. I think I saw him again on Jamboree near Irvine/Tustin Marketplace a month later. This one, http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/carrera-gt/

Can anyone offer any advice other than the tire pressure. It is fine, 38psi cold. I drive fast so slightly over 35 is best when 140mph+. Please help, thanks.
