What is the diameter(in mm) of the Nismo front and rear bars?

 

I believe they are the same as stock, but the wall thickness is greater making them stiffer. They are hollow just like the originals.

 

35mm Front, 22mm Rear, they are hollow and probably about 20% stiffer than stock. The R-tune will be stiffer and maybe solid. Cusco makes some that are solid, the same size as the Nismo, less expensive, and adjustable.

 

I called Finishline re the Cusco bar and they said nothing was available yet for the 350Z. Any ideas on who to contact and how for a 350 front bar???

We will have our sway bars availavlble for sale in about two weeks. They are the first pcs we will be releasing in a full line of suspension products for the Z.
Both our front and rear sway bar are adjustable.

If they are the same as stock, why buy them? Do they really make a difference? If they do, I might buy them. Does anyone have any conclusive stats?

 

Cusco's are solid pieces and are adjustable between 20-37% on the front.

Dwnshift's will be adjustable front and rear both, are solid, and inprove stiffness accordingly (at least as much as the Cusco's if I recall correctly) with fewer bends which should help. The Cusco, Nismo, and stock all seem to have quite a few bends. Dwnshift's will also allow more room for a true dual exhaust, and are already track tested with great results (Dwnshift, correct me if I am wrong).

If customers seek an even more agressive bar, we can do that also.

 

Downshift...the new bar sounds like what I am looking for.
What is the diameter-front?
Are bushings to fit OEM brackets included?
Can you purchase front bar only?

 

The OEM bushings and brackets will work with our bars.

 

But wouldn't you recommend new bushings to better match the new bars? Also, does it neutralize the car's handling (decrease understeer)?

Our car is very nuetral with a crisp turn in. The ability to go to a softer setting up front might be what autocrossers are looking for since they can only change the front bar (solo rules). With our front bar it gives the user the option of adjustability to tune for differnt conditons.
For track use I recommend getting both bars. We ran our front bar full stiff at Daytona.
New sway bars bushings are not a "needed" item but we do offer delron (super stiff) sway bars bushings for an additional cost.

 

Where is Wright Tuning located in Cincinnati? I will be in Cincinnati this week and might be able to stop by to discuss the new bar.

Reviving an old thread.

The OEM swaybars came out of a NISMO Z, is it the same thing as the aftermarket S-Tune NISMO swaybars? I notice the colors are different with the prior being black and latter being silver.

No on knows the answer. BUT, since the S-tune shocks and springs are not the same as the Nismo-Z shocks and springs, why would the sway bars be the same? Especially since oem regular Z's built after 04.5 have oem bar's that are almost identical to S-tune bars.

Problem is, with the limited nature of the Nismo Z, unlike regular Z's where oem bar's are a dime a dozen, no one is going to cut a set of bar's in half to measure the hollow wall thickness so we can math out the torsional regidity. Not unless someone can do the math based on weight and outside diameter alone.

 

Good call on that. Well I do have 03 OEM regular sway bars sitting around so I can do a weigh comparison. I can also measure the outside diameter. One thing I noticed immediately is the weight difference between the rear OEM nismo swaybar and rear regular swaybar.

Read through it and you'll find that the front sway is the same as the regular 350Z, the rear is stiffer.
