no one has ever has this issue? Could it be the springs "settling"?

Is there any way you can get the wheels off to look at the spring install? And maybe post pics?

I had a similiar issue with my hotchkis springs after I installed. It turned out to be my endlinks were cracked. Don't know if the springs caused it or all my autocrossing, but either way they're cheap to replace. No more noise!!

Really sounds like your Strut bolts or something is loose. If not that the spring may not be seated correctly.

Ok, don't laugh! I had the same exact problem after i had my springs installed. I took the car back to the shop after about of week ( made sure it just wasn't part of the settling ) and they took all my wheels off and double checked everything, and found nothing wrong. Well, I kept hearing this sound, so I took it to the dealerships service dept. They worked on it for about 3 1/2 hours. They had a tech ride in the hatch while another drove it around atleast 3x's. They ripped out everything from the trunk and finally located the problem.....my lugnut lock had fallen out of the bag that I kept it in and rolled underneath the spare tire. So the noise i kept hearing, was that thing rolling around my trunk. I don't know who felt dumber, me or the tech. Either way, they never charged me for anything...which was cool!

Hotchkis has less than 1" drop so your stock shocks should be okay. Did you check to make sure if the springs are seated (aligned) properly. Also, have you tried isolating the sound to find out if it's inside or outside the Z? Here's a quick check -- open your hatch, hop in the back and try bouncing up and down to see if you can replicate the sound. You should be able to narrow it down then. Or simply just lean on the open hatch and push down to see if you can hear the sound.

Does the noise come from hitting small bumps at low speeds? How about high speeds?

After install my S-techs, I had a knock type of noise when hitting small bumps. Rechecked, everything looked fine. The sound never went away, switched to Tein Flex, and its still there. Mine comes from the front passenger corner.
