Lightbulb original (oem) front calibers and rotor on the rear wheels... possible or not ?

Hello my friends,

I have a z roadster with classic brakes, i want to put Brembo brakes on the front wheels and I want to know if it's possible to put my front classic brakes (standard rotor and calibers) on rear wheels and brembo on the front wheels (does it possible to put brembo calibers and rotor on a standard cylinders system ?)

Sorry for my language , i am french.

Bye and thanks

Chris

The master cylinder expects to feed a certain volume of fluid to the rear. Changing calipers which have a larger piston [pistons] will just mean the rear brakes will apply weakly if at all.

The master cylinder must match the front/rear caliper VOLUME design.

Aftermarkets may just have more but smaller pistons to match oem design as to brake fluid volume.

Generally the 70% -- 63%]front 30% -- 37% rear ratio is normal.

Not to mention the rotors will not fit over the parking brake drum, custom brackets would need to be machined and the torque output would be far to great for use in the rear. This would likely mean longer than stock stopping distances, a soft, long travelling pedal and the possibility of unsafe snap oversteer due to premature rear brake lockup.

Dont do it

You will need custom mounting brackets, new rear rotors for use with the emergency brake..[brembo rears seem to be close to older stock front size]
You will need to modify the proportioning valve to compensate.
Best left for the pros.

It will be easier to get used oem brembos and bolt on.

You can get these complete as low as 1000 [I did] but be prepared to pay 1600 to 2000 for a complete set.
